This new headquarters building for Caja Madrid – an important bank in Spain - continues investigations into the flexible workplace that can be traced through a family of recent office towers by Foster + Partners, most notably for Swiss Re and Commerzbank. This degree of flexibility results in part from pushing the service cores to the edges of the plan - a strategy first used in the design of the Hong Kong Bank – to create uninterrupted 1200-square-metre floor plates.
El diseño de la nueva sede central de Caja Madrid ha sido realizado siguiendo la línea de las investigaciones de Foster + Partners, las cuales están orientadas a crear un lugar de trabajo flexible. Este concepto ha venido manifestándose en varias torres de oficinas construidas recientemente por la firma, destacando entre ellas la Swiss Re y Commerzbank.
La flexibilidad del espacio se consigue en parte al desplazar los núcleos de servicios hacía los extremos de la planta del edificio – una estrategia empleada por primera vez en el diseño del banco de Hong Kong – que deja totalmente libre una superficie de1200m2 disponibles por planta.
